There is no way around it, these trucks are old. The AC flap valves located inside of the airbox have foam gaskets that have certainty failed on your truck since new. The downside of this is a large majority of the airflow that was designed to come out of the dash vents gets diverted to the floors when the foam gasket fails. During the dash swap I eliminated the floor vents to increase overall airflow coming out of the vents and it has made a significant difference!

This of course is not required but is HIGHLY recommended in order to optimize airflow from your dash vents. The blower motors on these trucks are not the best to begin with.
