2011-2016 F-250/F-350 Wireless Charger Adapter (SYNC 3 COMPATIBLE ONLY)

***The wireless charging pad only works with trucks that have SYNC 3 style head units. It does not function independently, nor can be adapted to do so. Future project is developing a wireless charging pad that can be put in place of the wireless charging pad port on the adapter. No time frame for this project has been established as of 1/29/26.***

The 2011-2016 F-250/350 was originally equipped with SYNC 2 (for the later models) with the premium version of the head unit. The SYNC 2 feature set is incredibly limited in comparison to SYNC 3 that is offered in later model fords.

***This is an adapter that reuses the factory 17-22 F-250/350 SYNC 3 wireless charging pad, and USB port.***

Thanks to a fellow enthusiast Greg B. The best way to get the doner electronics for the wireless charging pad and USB port, as well as the light shown in this setup is from a 2018-2023 Ford Expedition. The Ford Expedition comes with the light, wireless charging pad, and the proper USB port. The variant with the USB Type C port can also work as long as it is from a SYNC 3 equipped Expedition. You can find the doner electronics on eBay from the Expedition for relatively cheap.

The reasoning behind using the Expedition over the F250/350 is that it is the identical equipment from the truck, in the Expedition and it is significantly cheaper then getting it from the trucks.
